Nets' owners Mikhail Prokhorov and Jay-Z are looking to meet with Carmelo Anthony on Friday in Los Angeles.

The team reportedly has an agreement in place with the Nuggets on a trade for Anthony and needs Anthony to agree to sign a contract extension as part of the deal.

After pulling out of trade talks last month, New Jersey is reportedly wary of another round of media speculation, and the possible embarrassment that would accompany a rejection by Anthony.  Therefore the club is pushing to get the meeting with Anthony done as soon as possible.

Alan Hahn says that there remains doubt that Anthony will accept a move to the Nets.

"A person directly involved in the Anthony trade situation said there is still great skepticism that Anthony will sign off on a deal with the Nets as long as the Knicks are still in the game before the Feb. 24 trade deadline," writes Hahn.
