There are coaches who put together massive scouting reports, complete with detailed descriptions of player tendencies and extensive video edits of an opponent's preferred plays.

John Calipari is not one of those coaches.

In fact, the University of Kentucky basketball coach said on Thursday, the eve of his team's game against Ohio State in tonight's NCAA East Regional semifinal at the Prudential Center, that if his Wildcats had seen the Buckeyes, it's because they'd caught Thad Matta's squad on TV.

“This is no different than any other game,” Calipari said. “They have seen no scouting report, which they won't see. We are worried about us. We are worried about us playing well. We'll give them what they need to play this game. But to this point, we have been focused on us.”

UK typically only focuses on its opponent at a walk-through the day before a game, forward Terrence Jones said. Even with that approach, Jones said it's “not often” that the Cats get caught off-guard by an opponent's strategy.
