Jim Calhoun has given every indication that he plans to return to the bench next season, but a stipulation in the five-year extension he signed last year will give him some control over how he leaves should he decide to retire. Calhoun’s contract reads:

Upon Coach Calhoun's resignation or retirement from the head coaching position at UConn, he will receive either a one-time payment of $1,000,000 or secure employment in a full-time position in the University Division of Athletics for a maximum of five years at an annual salary of $300,000.

Calhoun, 68, is 607-230 in 25 seasons at Connecticut.
