Derrick Rose didn’t shoot any free throws in Game 1.

“He’s got to attack more. I thought he settled for some shots,” coach Tom Thibodeau said. “But he’ll be ready. He studies. He’ll be prepared. I thought some drives, he didn’t go as hard as he usually does, but that will change.”

Thibodeau talked again about how Rose is so athletic, he may draw contact, but not always get the foul calls. That’s been a problem since Rose arrived in the NBA, but he went to the foul line more often in the second half of the season.

“I think he’s got to make the officials make the call,” Thibodeau added. “When he does that, that’s when he’s at his best.

“He has the ability to take the hit and still get it up and sometimes he doesn’t get the call, but when he’s attacking the basket and he’s going north and south and not dancing with the ball, he’s impossible to stop. So that’s what we’ve got to get him to do.”
