Brook Lopez's 38 points against the Mavericks and 28 points against the Celtics last week helped clear the way for Deron Williams to score 57 on Sunday against the Bobcats.

Teams have been doubling Williams throughout the season with Lopez injured, but Charlotte chose not to play the Nets straight.

Lopez is now injured again and Williams is expected to see double-teams.

“We have to learn that if I’m getting doubled, we should be able to score because that means we’re playing 4-on-3 (elsewhere),” Williams said. “I mean, hopefully it will happen eventually. It’s been a long season, (and) it happens a lot. At times we get it right and at times we don’t, so I just try and make sure guys are in the right spot, doing the right thing.”
