The NBA will play six games on Monday while the NCAA hosts its national championship game.
In past seasons, the NBA typically doesn't schedule games on this day, but the condensed schedule made it impossible not to.
“It's almost like playing on the Super Bowl in terms of the popularity of the game,'' Rick Carlisle said. “I really won't see the game because we're playing, but I'm going to watch a recording of it because I think it's going to be a very interesting game.
“It's disappointing that we'll miss the live broadcast, but our game is more important."
