Andrew Wiggins believes Canada could compete for a gold medal if the Olympics move to an under-23 format for the 2016 Rio de Janeiro games.

“We can win it all,” Wiggins said before going for 24 points and 7 rebounds in Canada’s 100-86 loss to USA Midwest in the championship game of the Nike Global Challenge on Sunday.

David Stern and Adam Silver would like to see Olympic basketball transformed into a youth tournament because of concerns over player burnout.

Led by Wiggins, Canada could feature several professional level players, including Anthony Bennett, Trey Lyles, Tyler Ennis and Khem Birch.

“I think our talent can match their talent,” Wiggins said of the United States. “I think it would be a well-fought game, close game. I don’t think anyone can really say that one team’s better than the other.”
