Roger Mason has decided to run for president of the National Basketball Players Association.

"What the NBPA needs is someone who is a representative of the majority of our players –somebody who understands where we've been, where we are now and where we need to go and I can humbly say that's me," Mason said.

Mason has been involved with NBPA for 10 years, most recently as a vice president on the executive committee.

"The last six months have really been a group effort with our executive committee," said Mason. "I don't know if our committee has ever been this close and diligent. It's a lot of time. Jerry (Stackhouse) and James (Jones) and Andre (Iguodala) and Willie (Green), Stephen (Curry), Chris Paul, Matt Bonner – those guys have been engaged. I think we have a great team right now. I just look forward to helping lead that charge."
