Ty Lawson was charged with physical harassment and criminal mischief stemming from a Saturday night domestic violence arrest.
Lawson girlfriend, Ashley Nicole Pettiford, was also arrested, according to Arapahoe County Sheriff Grayson Robinson.
"They were yelling at each other and broke each other's phones," Robinson said. "I don't believe it was physical otherwise."
Both parties were charged in the incident and Lawson was freed on bond of $1,000.
"We are fully aware of an incident involving Ty Lawson over the weekend," Denver Nuggets GM Tim Connelly said. "Per team policy and out of respect for the legal process, we will have no further comment at this time."
