The Iowa State Cyclones have hired Murray State coach Steve Prohm to replace Fred Hoiberg.

Prohm, 40, was 104-29 in four seasons since taking over at Murray State. He led the Racers to the NCAA tournament in his first season and was undefeated in Ohio Valley Conference play this past season before losing in the conference tournament.

The other coaches who interviewed in Atlanta this past weekend were Stephen F. Austin's Brad Underwood, Valparaiso's Bryce Drew, N.C. Central's LeVelle Moton and Iowa State assistant coach T.J. Otzelberger.

Jeff Hornacek of the Phoenix Suns was also linked to the job.
