LeBron James won his third career NBA title this past season and his first with the Cleveland Cavaliers. James' place as one of the best players who ever played the game has already been determined but he continues to pursue the mantle as greatest to ever play.

“My motivation is this ghost I’m chasing," said James. "The ghost played in Chicago.”

James is clearly reference Michael Jordan, who won six titles with the Bulls and is almost universally considered the greatest ever.

“Why do I feel like I’m about to go into therapy?” he asks. “What I’ve gone through is totally different than what he went through. What he did was unbelievable, and I watched it unfold. I looked up to him so much. I think it’s cool to put myself in position to be one of those great players, but if I can ever put myself in position to be the greatest player, that would be something extraordinary.”

James erased a 3-1 deficit against the Warriors while leading the Cavaliers in points, rebounds, assists, blocks and steals.

“This was bigger for me than the first and the second,” James says, “because of everything it represents.”
