Charles Oakley has been banned from Madison Square Garden for life.
Oakley has long been in a feud with James Dolan, which came to a head during Wednesday's altercation.
The Knicks said in a release Wednesday night they hope Oakley gets “the help he needs” and have pushed the narrative that he had been intoxicated the night of the incident.
Oakley told Fox-5’s Duke Castiglione that he had “a few drinks” prior to Wednesday’s game.
Oakley has received almost universal support from current and former players, as well as the media.
