The Minnesota Timberwolves today announced the team has waived center Nikola Pekovic.
Pekovic appeared in 271 games for the Wolves, averaging 12.6 points, on 51.8 percent shooting, and 6.7 rebounds. He was drafted by Minnesota in the second round (31st overall) of the 2008 NBA Draft.
Pekovic last played in January of the 15-16 season.
Pekovic is owed $11.6 million for 17-18 season but Minnesota will pursue a medical retirement.
