The Los Angeles Clippers met with Chris Paul and his agents on Tuesday.
The two sides discussed the future of the franchise and will meet again soon.
Paul can be offered a five-year max contract at the start of free agency. Rival teams can only offer a four-year max and with five percent raises compared to eight percent from the Clippers.
Paul is expected to most seriously consider the San Antonio Spurs and Houston Rockets in free agency.
