Adam Silver claims the Chinese government requested Daryl Morey be terminated as general manager of the Houston Rockets and that the NBA rejected it flatly.
"We made clear that we were being asked to fire him, by the Chinese government, by the parties we dealt with, government and businesses," said Silver. "We said there's no chance that's happening. There's no chance we'll even discipline him."
The NBA issued a series of statements following Morey's Tweet supporting Hong Kong that sent mixed signals on where they stood on the issue.
