There is optimism coming from the camp of Ben Simmons that a deal to the Brooklyn Nets will be executed by the trade deadline, according to reporting from Sam Amick of The Athletic.
A source says that the only thing that can derail a James Harden trade with the Philadelphia 76ers is "ego" on the part of the Brooklyn considering how much they gave up to acquire Harden in January 2021.
Simmons hasn't played at all this season in what has been a major gamble on the part of both the 76ers and Klutch Sports.
