When the smoke had cleared after the fireworks display by point guard Jason Kidd, one image stood out from the Nets' demolition of the Phoenix Suns Wednesday night.

It was a Hall of Fame moment, a football Hall of Fame moment. In the third quarter, Kidd gathered a rebound and heaved the ball 24 yards upcourt, hitting shooting guard Kerry Kittles perfectly in stride. Kittles, having separated from a defender, collected the pass and laid it in without a dribble for a 20-point lead.

"He's Jerry Rice," Kidd said, "and I'm Joe Montana."
