_ Stephon Marbury, Suns, scored a season-high 40 points and had nine assists as Phoenix ended an eight-game road losing streak with a 113-105 victory over the Clippers.

_ Lamar Odom, Heat, had 25 points, 13 rebounds and eight assists, leading Miami to a 90-83 victory at Chicago.

_ Paul Pierce, Celtics, had 21 points, seven rebounds, six assists and four steals as Boston beat Golden State 100-91.

_ Ben Wallace, Pistons, had 16 points and 18 rebounds in Detroit's 108-99 win over New Orleans.

STRANGE DAY

Indiana forward Ron Artest, taken out of the starting lineup Monday after he overslept and missed the morning shootaround, came off the bench to score 18 points in a 94-86 victory over Memphis. Artest met with team officials earlier and said he would not play because of a sore lower back, but changed his mind shortly before gametime.

SNAPPED

Portland became the last NBA team to win on the road this season, stopping a 10-game road losing streak with a 91-87 victory at New Jersey on Monday night. The win also ended the Nets' six-game home winning string.

OFFENSIVE

The Knicks' 114-86 victory at Orlando on Monday night extended their road winning streak to three, New York's most since Nov. 7-10, 1996. The Knicks tied a season high in points by going 15-for-26 from 3-point range.

SWING

Chicago guard Jamal Crawford, who scored 72 points in two previous games, finished with just eight on 3-of-16 shooting in Monday night's 90-83 loss to Miami.

SLUMPS

Memphis' 94-86 loss to Indiana on Monday night was its sixth straight. The Grizzlies are the only NBA team to never beat the Pacers in Indiana. ... New Orleans has lost four consecutive road games. ... Philadelphia's 106-97 loss in Utah was its third straight and fifth in six games. The Jazz won for the first time when topping 100 points.

Detroit's 108-99 victory over New Orleans on Monday night marked the first time the Pistons reached 100 points since beating the Lakers 106-96 on Nov. 18.

Tracy McGrady was scoreless for the first time in his Orlando career Monday night against the Knicks. McGrady, the NBA's second-leading scorer (25.2), left after the first quarter with a strained right hip flexor.
