Ron Artest slept through shootaround, got called in for a meeting with the bosses and then came up with a mysterious back ailment.

Then, just a half-hour before tipoff, he was suddenly all better.

``It's over with. It's in the past,'' Pacers coach Rick Carlisle said after Artest helped lead Indiana to a 94-86 victory over Memphis on Monday night. ``We're moving on.''

Artest came off the bench and shot 7-of-10 from the field with five rebounds and four assists, and Jermaine O'Neal had 20 points and 13 rebounds as Indiana handed the Grizzlies their sixth straight loss.

Carlisle blasted Artest and the team after Saturday night's loss to New Jersey, saying Artest had been benched for the second half for ``conduct detrimental to winning.''

Artest met with Carlisle, CEO Donnie Walsh and president Larry Bird on Monday afternoon, then said he wouldn't play because of a sore lower back. But he changed his mind and entered with just under five minutes left in the first quarter, energizing a flat Pacers team.

``We have a good training staff,'' Carlisle said with a wry smile.

O'Neal then scored six points to fuel a 10-2 run in the fourth quarter that sealed the game and snapped a two-game losing skid _ the first time the Pacers lost consecutive games all season.

``I thought Artest was a key guy in the game,'' Carlisle said. ``To come in and play the way he did under the circumstances of the last few days, we certainly needed it.''
