The Timberwolves expect Jim Stack to remain general manager. The Knicks reportedly have had interest in Stack. Knicks President Isiah Thomas is an old friend of Stack who brought him to Indiana when Thomas was coach.

Minnesota did hire Chapman, former Suns director of basketball operations, as a consultant for Tuesday's draft. Timberwolves vice president of basketball operations Kevin McHale said Chapman will assist him in evaluating talent and that he's in negotiations with Stack on a contract extension.
