Antonio Davis is expected to suit up for the Toronto Raptors early next week, returning to a team that traded him three years ago.

Davis, acquired Friday in a deal that sent Jalen Rose, a first-round draft pick and cash to the New York Knicks, took a physical Saturday morning. He headed to his New York home to wrap up personal matters.

After a visit to his Chicago home, the Raptors said they expect him back Monday or Tuesday. Toronto hosts San Antonio on Wednesday.

"He's a professional and he's going to honor his contract," said Raptors coach Sam Mitchell. "He's the president of the players' association, he's going to do the right thing. He understands the business of basketball. We're happy to have him."
