Antonio Davis will honour his contract to play in Toronto, Raptors interim GM Wayne Embry said Sunday.

"No, no possibility at all," Embry said when asked if there was a chance the team would offer Davis a buyout.

Davis was acquired Friday in a deal that sent Jalen Rose, a first-round draft pick and cash to the New York Knicks. He met with Embry and Sam Mitchell on Saturday morning, took a physical, then flew to New York to gather his belongings before heading to Chicago to meet with wife Kendra.

There's been speculation the big forward, who was traded by the Raptors in 2003, wouldn't play in Toronto, instead retiring or asking the Raptors to trade him to a playoff contender or buy him out of his contract.

While Embry admitted Davis wasn't thrilled about the trade when they met Saturday, Embry is confident the 37-year-old will be back in a Raptors uniform and the team expects him to arrive in Toronto on Monday or Tuesday. He could play Wednesday when Toronto hosts the San Antonio Spurs.

"He was a real pro," said Embry. "He's got some anxieties about moving, but we had a nice talk with him and he's ready to come, and as long as he's a Raptor, he's going to do what we want him to do.
