Antonio Davis was en route to Toronto last night, ready to make his return to the Raptors.

Coach Sam Mitchell said he expected Davis to touch down in Toronto last night and practise with the team for the first time today. Davis was acquired in the deal that sent Jalen Rose and a first-round pick to the New York Knicks Friday. He made stops in New York and at his family home in Chicago after learning of the trade.

"We've talked to Antonio and he's coming," Mitchell said.

Davis, who had his issues with Toronto before he was traded in 2003, reportedly isn't thrilled with the latest trade. But he's ready to grin and bear it because, frankly, he really doesn't have another option, unless he wants to give up about $6 million US on the final year of his rich contract.

"I don't think it really matters (if he is upset)," Bill Duffy, Antonio Davis' agent, said yesterday. "He's a pro. I didn't feel like getting up this morning."
