If Sam Mitchell has coached his last game with the Raptors, he wasn't about to look back wistfully on it.

Mitchell, whose contract runs out June 30 and who is sure to be pursued by a couple of teams searching for new coaches, was in no mood to discuss his future after Toronto's season-ending 98-97 loss to the New Jersey Nets here last night.

"I would like to take five minutes to let this wear off," he said.

The Indiana Pacers and Charlotte Bobcats are sure to be interested in the 43-year-old Mitchell. A report in the Orlando Sentinel this week suggested Magic coach Brian Hill may be let go and Mitchell's relationship with budding Orlando star Dwight Howard (he grew up close to Mitchell's Atlanta home and the two are friends) would make the Toronto coach a natural.

Raptor president and GM Bryan Colangelo has said he hopes to keep Mitchell around but on the day Mitchell won the NBA coach of the year award, the GM admitted talks would begin to see if he and the coach "were on the same page."
