After being beaten at the center position against both the Lakers and the Rockets over the past four days, the Sonics are now looking to use undersized forward Nick Collison at center, the Seattle Post-Intelligencer is reporting.

Kurt Thomas could become the starter at center, but he would not be as productive playing more than 20 to 25 minutes per game.

Meanwhile, the Sonics' other three young centers: Robert Swift, Johan Petro, and Mouhamed Sene - all have question marks.

"No, I am not comfortable with anything, with the way we got manhandled twice," Carlesimo said. "We haven't seen Nick and (Wilcox) together, and we need to see that. We're not happy with anything. We got beat very badly inside by Houston and L.A."

Carlesimo said last week that he did not want to use the 6-foot-9 Collison at center because he is undersized. Swift is 7 feet but has been laboring at times getting up and down the court. Carlesimo said Swift may have to sit out the second game of back-to-backs until his surgically repaired knee causes less discomfort.
