The Lakers aren't likely to pull off a major trade prior to next month's deadline.

Mike Bresnahan of the Los Angeles Times writes that the Lakers don't possess the right contracts to make a significant move.

They have the expiring contracts of Adam Morrison at $5.3 million, Derek Fisher at $5 million and Jordan Farmar at $1.9 million, but most teams will want Los Angeles to take back long-term, expensive deals in return.

The Lakers already have the league's highest payroll at $91.3 million, which includes an additional luxury tax hit of $21.4 million.

In addition, the team has already committed $83.7 million towards just eight players for 2010-11.
