Heat point guard Mario Chalmers wants to win his starting role back.

"Time to get back on my [game]. Tired of sittin' on the bench," Chalmers wrote Sunday on Twitter. "Gotta get back to the way I was."

Rafer Alston has been Miami's starter recently and should keep the role barring an injury.

"I'm ready to get back that spot," Chalmers said prior to Monday's game against the Cavaliers. "The team needs me back there. I want my spot back. I think there's a great chance I can get it back."

Chalmers initially lost the starting gig to Carlos Arroyo before Miami signed Alston.

"I don't want Rio to settle in comfortably into his role," coach Erik Spoelstra said.

"I want him to be more professional. I want him early to work. I want him to spend more time with the coaches watching film. I want him to ... get rest, pay attention to his diet. I want him to completely commit to his profession and to this team."
