Celtics coach Doc Rivers says that guard Delonte West will require surgery on his broken right wrist.

"He did tests today, CAT scan and two or three other tests. I haven't heard any of the results," Rivers said Friday night. "He's out for a while. He's gonna need surgery, but other than that I don't know what else to tell you."

West broke the wrist attempting to brace himself during an awkward fall on Wednesday against the Nets.

Boston doesn't yet know when West will undergo surgery.
