All non-guaranteed contracts will soon become protected for the remainder of the season.

That is why on Tuesday we have seen John Lucas III, Rodney Carney and Sundiata Gaines waived by the Bulls, Warriors and Timberwolves, respectively.

The Pacers have a decision to make on A.J. Price, who will see his contract become fully protected if he isn't placed on waivers by Tuesday night.

Price, who suffered a knee injury during the offseason, has only appeared in six games for Indiana this season.

According to a source, the Pacers will keep Price on their roster as they see him as a potential cog in their young core.

That youthful group consists of Darren Collison, Paul George, Danny Granger, Tyler Hansbrough, Roy Hibbert and Brandon Rush.
