Mike D’Antoni called Donnie Walsh “great”, but was careful about not involving himself in the ongoing public debate about the future of the Knicks' president.

"Not really," said D'Antoni when asked whether he is concerned about Walsh's status. "That’s something he’ll take care of, management will take care of and it will work its way out. I got so many other problems I don’t…I need to worry about the rebounding and stuff like that. You do your job and hang in there and it usually works for everybody."

The Knicks have until April 30th to pick up Walsh's fourth-year option.

“I’m not on edge, not wondering,” said D'Antoni. “This is a business. There’s rumors about everything. There’s rumors about trades. If you start worrying about everything…that’s the NBA. The NBA works in a way and you just ride along with it and do the best job you can do and control what you can control. And that’s where I put my efforts into. I don’t spend any time worrying about it.”

Walsh has said that he enjoys working for owner James Dolan, but sources say Dolan is closer with D'Antoni.

“I feel like Donnie’s done everything he can do but I don’t have an opinion,” D’Antoni said. “I’ve got to focus on what I’m doing. I’m not an opinion maker. I let you guys do that."
