DeMarcus Cousins injured his shin on Monday, but he had one of his best practices of the season on Tuesday, according to Paul Westphal.

His status for Wednesday's game was in doubt, but he ended up taking painkillers and then adrenaline kicked in. Cousins had a season-high 29 points against the best defensive big in the NBA in Dwight Howard.

"Warming up, I came in and talked to coach, and I told him maybe I should have sat out of practice (Tuesday)," Cousins said. "I really went after it in practice … and I came in, and my leg was sore."
