The NBA players' association said the NBA has made inaccurate financial projections before in response to a report from the New York Times that questioned the veracity of claims of a loss.

Union spokesman Dan Wasserman says the NBA projected a decline in revenues during the 09-10 season but they actually rose, so the final losses should have been much less than the league said.

"So yes, we feel there is more than adequate basis for questioning their projections and financials," Wasserman said Wednesday.

The NBA has claimed a loss of $340 million in 09-10.
