Dwaun Anderson, who was named the 2011 Mr. Michigan Basketball winner, will move from Michigan State to Wagner as a non-scholarship student in January before going on scholarship next year.

“First, Dwaun is a high-character kid and a good person,” Matt Pauls, of ECE/NJABC basketball, told SILive.com. “He is someone who felt he needed a smaller setting than Michigan State, and he really was comfortable with Dan and Bobby Hurley.”

Paul added: “He’s the biggest 6-4 player I’ve ever been around. Dwaun has a 40-inch vertical leap, and is a streaky long-range shooter who has a huge upside.”

Anderson withdrew from Michigan State following the death of his mother.

“I’ve been in counseling (since the death of my mother),” Anderson said in a statement when he left Michigan State. “I realized I need to get some other things together before I moved on with basketball.”
