Lakers coach Mike Brown found several flaws that need to be fixed before the season opens in nine days.

While the first-year Lakers coach liked how the team played offensively during an intrasquad scrimmage Friday at USC's Galen Center, he was troubled by the defense, which will be a focal point this season.

"I thought our communication defensively wasn't good. I thought our defensive transition wasn't good. I thought the ball got to the post too easy," Brown said. "I think we forced it at a certain point in the offense."
