Devin Ebanks, who the Lakers drafted last year, has been consistent throughout training camp, which led Mike Brown to name him a starter over the more experienced Matt Barnes.

Metta World Peace, who started at that position the previous two seasons, has been designated as the Lakers’ sixth man.

“What we’re looking for in that role is for the person to be real solid with the basketball,” Brown said. “You’re not going to get many opportunities in terms of  plays called, so when the ball is swung your way, (you have to) step in with confidence to knock down the shot.”
