The Springfield Armor announced today that they have acquired Damian Johnson from the NBA D-League’s available player pool. To make room on the roster, the Armor waived Alejo Rodriguez.

Johnson, a 6’7 forward, played in 11 games (four starts) with the Bakersfield Jam this season, averaging 2.5 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 20.0 minutes after joining the team via Bakersfield’s local player tryouts. Prior to joining the Jam, Johnson played for the Oita Heat Devils in Japan’s BJ League during the 2010-11 season, averaging 15.9 points, 8.7 rebounds and 2.9 assists in 47 games (five starts). He also played for the Miami Heat’s summer league team during the summer of 2010.

Rodriguez, whom the Armor waived, averaged 0.7 points and 2.6 rebounds in 7.3 minutes in seven games for the team.
