Indian ranks No. 1 in the nation in three-point shooting at 47.6 percent.

Hoosiers coach Tom Crean attributes part of his team’s accuracy to a rapid-fire three-point shooting drill in which each of his players are given a goal of how many three-pointers they are to make in five minutes.

Sharpshooters Jordan Hulls and Matt Roth are expected make 70 threes in that five-minute span. Even Cody Zeller might be in the 45-50 range.

“It’s a great drill,” Crean said. “I haven’t had many players who could consistently make over 70, but Jordan and Matt are special that way.”

Zeller said Indian's three-point shooting is creating opportunities inside.

"If they're covering our 3-point shooters, that's just going to open up more things for us one-on-one inside," Zeller said. "That makes it easier on us. If they focus on us, then we can kick it out for 3s. It makes us a tough team to defend."
