Stephen Curry has played seven consecutive games since switching to a new Nike shoe that better supports his surgically repaired right ankle.

"Put an insert in there, some orthotics, to make sure it's fitting my foot and set in the shoe in the right way," Curry says.

Curry is averaging a career-low 16.3 points and admits the ankle remains slow to respond during games.

"I got a ways to go. I'm not thinking about it when I'm on the floor, but I'm still a step slow when it comes to pushing off it and trying to go full speed on it," Curry says.

Warriors general manager Larry Riley doesn’t expect Curry’s right ankle to be a chronic issue.

"I don't see it as a long-term problem provided we don't have more of a recurrence," Riley says. "Because of his youth and the way we think things are breaking down right now, if he's (ready) to play, we're just going to play him."
