Rajon Rondo responded to persistent trade talk following Boston’s win over New Jersey on Friday night.

In the last week, Rondo has weathered another series of reports that the Celtics are shopping him, which the team has since denied. He also heard reports that his relationship with Doc Rivers has soured.

Rondo said it all feels like “déjà vu.”

When asked if the talks bother him, Rondo paused before simply saying, “No.”

“I don’t know where people are getting their information from,” Rondo said in reference to his relationship with Rivers, who has came out in defense of their relationship. “That was big of Doc to come out with a statement. People are still going to say we got problems even after Doc made that statement.”

The lines of communication haven’t always been great between Rondo, Rivers and general manager Danny Ainge, but Rondo says they have improved.

“Danny talked to me a couple of days ago, but we always talk,” said Rondo. “It’s not just trade talk. We talk maybe once a week, same with Doc. Our communication has gotten better.”

Mere feet from Rondo, Paul Pierce offered his own take on Rondo's play through consistent rumors and even mentioned offering the younger player some advice.

“It’s nothing we haven’t been through before,” Pierce said. “Rondo has been through rumors, I’ve been through a number of trade rumors. You have to do your job and you can’t let that stuff affect you.

“I mentioned it to Rondo (on Friday), I was part of trade rumors for probably four or five straight years. Whatever happens happens, it’s a business. Sometimes you don’t have any control over it.”
