The Magic have publicly appeared to be more likely to not trade Dwight Howard ahead of the March 15th deadline.

Their logic is that even a slim chance of keeping Howard in the long-term is worth more to the franchise than any trade they can execute.

But the chatter appears "at least partly designed as a means of trying to improve the offers that come in before the deadline," writes Marc Stein.
