Dimitris Diamantidis scored 15 points, handed out 8 assists and added two steals and blocks apiece in 21 minutes of play to lead Panathinaikos to a 93-73 win in Game 1 of the Euroleague Quarterfinals.
Nick Calathes added 13 points and grabbed 8 rebounds for the reigning Euroleague champions.
Keith Langford recorded 21 points for Maccabi.
Game 2 of the best-of-five series is set for Thursday.
