The Bucks are two games behind the Knicks overall, but Milwaukee is only one game back of New York in the loss column of the Eastern Conference records of the two clubs, which split their season series 2-2.

Between both teams, the only Western Conference opponent left on the schedule is the Clippers, who play in New York on April 25 in the second-to-last game of the Knicks’ regular season.

Therefore, if the Bucks gain exactly two games on the Knicks overall through the end of the schedule -- meaning both teams finish with the exact same record -- the only way that the Knicks will not lose to the Bucks on the tiebreaker of which team has the better Eastern Conference record is if one of the Knicks' losses is to the Clippers (rather than any of the other games, all of which will be against Eastern Conference teams).
