Bob Myers was promoted to general manager of the Warriors on Tuesday, leaving Larry Riley relegated to a new role as Director of Scouting.

Riley wasn't happy with the timing of the move, according to a source. But Riley understood the move and is grateful to be retained.

At the time of the hiring 12 months earlier, Joe Lacob said Myers was in line for the job after Riley retired “in a few years.”

Sources say Myers has proven he is ready for the GM role now.
