Kevin McHale has no problem with Kyle Lowry despite a falling out at the end of last season.

“I always said as a coach, your job isn’t to get along with everybody,” McHale said. “Your job is to coach them hard. I don’t have a problem with Kyle. He may have a problem with me, but he better worry when I have a problem with him. If he has a problem with me, doesn’t like me, that doesn’t bother me very much. If I have a problem with him, he sits on the bench. That probably bothers him more.

“I’m not even concerned about that.”

Lowry told reporters last month that he does not think he and McHale can coexist.

Rockets CEO Tad Brown is optimistic about the situation.

“Knowing both these guys, I’m sure cooler heads will prevail as soon as everybody gets together and talks it through,” Brown said.
