Minnesota also was considering offering Derrick Williams and Martell Webster in a sign-and-trade to ensure they would land Batum, but the Blazers were prepared to reject it.

Portland is expected to match Batum's offer sheet.

Williams was the second overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft.
