Royce White skipped Monday’s game for the Houston Rockets and Tuesday’s practice.
Kelvin Sampson, acting head coach of the Rockets while Kevin McHale is on a personal leave of absence, did not know why White was not in attendance.
White has not played this season and it was reported that the Rockets were planning on sending him to the D-League.
White and his agent, Andrew Vye, did not return messages seeking comment.
White suffers from anxiety issues, including a fear of flying.
White released the following statement on Twitter:
I'm most definitely* not AWOL... There are many things here ppl don't know, #Honesty is what I'm sticking with. @houstonrockets "Luke 12:3"
