Kwame Brown has given the Philadelphia 76ers solid production at center this season.

Brown signed in the offseason on a one-year, $3 million deal with a player option at the same price for 13-14.

“A couple years ago, I modeled myself after guys with longevity,” Brown said. “That’s what I wanted to do. To be in this business, you’ve got to know your role and know what you want to do — forget what pick or meeting expectations. You’ve just got to go out and do your job.”

“We didn’t sign him because he was the first pick in the draft,” Doug Collins said. “We think he’s a tremendous low-post defender. We need him and Lavoy (Allen). That’s the only size we have.”
