Anthony Davis was cleared for contact work and practiced with the New Orleans Hornets on Monday, but Monty Williams is not sure whether the rookie forward will be ready to play Tuesday night due to the stress fracture in his left ankle.

Even so, Davis has ramped up his training and will most likely return sometime this week, according to Williams.

"I’m not sure if he has to take another test today, tomorrow or has already taken it,’’ Williams said. "He’s been cleared for contact and is ramping up his conditioning. He practiced a little bit, but again (we) have to wait until tonight or tomorrow to see how he feels. He has been working with Coach Carlos (Daniel).''

Davis has missed 11 straight games and holds averages of 16 points and 8.3 rebounds on the season.
