The Detroit Pistons are giving strong consideration to Maurice Cheeks to become their next head coach and have set up a third interview with the Oklahoma City Thunder assistant, according to sources.

The consensus in coaching circles is that the Pistons' job will come down to Cheeks and Nate McMillan.

Cheeks likely has the support of Joe Dumars.
