The Dallas Mavericks have agreed to hire Gersson Rosas as general manager.

Rosas was previously the Houston Rockets' VP of basketball operations.

Rosas will be given significant authority to shape the direction of the Mavericks' pro and college personnel departments.

Rosas is just 35 years old and considered one of the NBA's best young executives.

Mark Cuban and Donnie Nelson had been committed to strengthening their front office.
